The 30th Education and Careers Expo
15 - 18 July 2021

The Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board (HKMPB) participated in the Education & Careers Expo (Expo) by setting up a booth at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre which was held from 15-18 July 2021. This is the fourth time that HKMPB participated in the Expo since its establishment.

Fun game with interactive technology was specially designed to attract visitors to the booth. Besides information panels which introduced entry requirements, career prospects and promotion opportunities of various positions in the maritime industry as well as the Maritime and Aviation Training Fund (MATF), series of career videos on maritime professions were played at the booth.

Information sets which included brochures of maritime-related programmes and funding schemes under MATF were distributed at the booth. In combination with the exchanges with the in-service practitioners, we hoped to extend the interests and arouse the awareness of the students and general public towards the maritime industry, thereby encouraging them to join the industry.

Career videos were played at the booth introducing the entry requirements, career prospects and job opportunities of the maritime industry. A new series of career videos featuring female practitioners were played at the booth. A group of students were introduced the career path on the seafaring career in the booth. Information sets were distributed to students at the booth. It was hoped that the exhibition could help enhance the interests and awareness of the students and general public towards maritime industry, thereby encouraging them to join the industry. Maritime-themed game was offered to visitors. Souvenirs were distributed to winners. Winners of maritime-themed games could get one of the model ship key-rings.
