Event Description:
Formed in 1974, WISTA International is a global organisation connecting female executives and decision makers around the world. WISTA International serves as a connector for its network of more than 3,000 female professionals from all sectors of the maritime industry.
More than 40 countries support a National WISTA Association (NWA), each of which in turn is a member of and is guided by WISTA International. NWAs provide in-country and regional networking, business and skill building opportunities, corporate visibility, and also facilitate relationships within the industry.
WISTA Hongkong will cordially host the Asia-Pac Regional Conference in Hong Kong during 13-15 June 2019. The Conference will have a Welcome Cocktail Reception hosted together with the Nautical Institute Hong Kong at the Poolside at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club on 13 June 2019. The Conference will be held on 14 June 2019 at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, Kellet Island, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong with panel discussions (including First Panel discussion – Hong Kong’s strategic place as a modern shipping, logistics, technological and disputes centre on the Belt and Road and in the Asia Pac region; the Second Panel discussion – Diversity and Inclusion – Making your marine and transport company more profitable; Third Panel discussion Technology in shipping – autonomy and beyond. How automated and other technologies are being embraced in different jurisdictions. Opportunities and challenges), to be followed by an interactive workshop. Networking activities will be held on 15 June 2019 as junk boat trip and seafood lunch at Lamma Island.
