Event Description:

The Lloyd’s List Hong Kong webinar will gather a panel of leading financial and legal experts in Hong Kong’s maritime sector to share their authoritative knowledge about the issues facing the city; a top-class financial and legal services hub for shipping.

The challenges facing the city are obvious, with the city caught in the middle of a simmering US-China strife and its prominence being stolen by neighboring maritime centres.

Progress has been made to overcome these difficulties and increase the territory’s attraction. Those include the new local tax regime for ship leasing and the inclusion of Hong Kong as a named arbitration venue by BIMCO.

While the effectiveness of those efforts remains to be seen, maritime players seeking an optimal place to operate or facilitate their business are keen to understand the implication of those changes - the opportunities and the risks.
