The pandemic of COVID-19, one of the most unpredictable black swans in modern history, has sent great shockwaves through global maritime transport. According to UNCTAD, global maritime trade had plunged by over 4% in 2020 due to the unprecedented disruption, registering the first negative growth of the industry since 2009.
