Information on Priority Group of COVID-19 Vaccination Programme (Personnel Providing Cross-boundary Transportation or Working at Control Points and Ports)10 March 2021

Programme Background

As announced by the HKSAR Government on 18 February 2021, the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme has been rolled out for members of the public to receive free vaccination on a voluntary basis at Community Vaccination Centres (CVCs) to be set up in all 18 districts and participating public/private clinics.  Vaccination will be arranged for the public in phases, with priority given to high-risk groups that are most vulnerable to the development of severe disease or death from COVID-19 infection, groups that have greater risks of exposure to the virus and transmitting it to susceptible and vulnerable patients, and groups that are critical for maintaining essential societal functioning.

Eligible Persons

Local staff members of the port and maritime-related sectors, specifically those who may have contacts with sea crew onboard ocean going vessels or river trade vessels during their course of operation have been identified as one of the priority groups for vaccination.

Means of Reservation

Staff members of the aforementioned priority group can make reservation to receive free vaccination through the following means:

(a) Direct booking through the online booking system or designated private clinics. Reservation for the 1st dose and 2nd dose can be made through the 24-hour online booking system linked to the dedicated website (https://booking.covidvaccine.gov.hk/forms/index.jsp ), or direct contact with the designated private clinics enrolled in the Vaccination Programme under the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (Relevant List: https://www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/en/VSS )

(b) Block booking through Civil Services Bureau (“CSB”).  The designated contact person of an eligible company can send a request by phone at 5275 9255 or by email to cvc_group@csb.gov.hk, with the following details, including (i)name of company, (ii)details of contact person (name, telephone, email), (iii)preferred CVC, (iv)preferred date and timeslot of 1st dose, (v)the number of persons receiving the vaccination for block booking. (Applicable to a group of at least 6 individuals)

(c) Block booking through Transport and Housing Bureau (“THB”). The designated contact person of a company can send a request to THB with the following information including (i) name of company, (ii) details of contact person (name, telephone, email), (iii) preferred CVC, (iv) preferred date and timeslot of 1st dose (a maximum of three choices in order of preference), (v) the number of persons receiving the vaccination for making block booking at designated CVCs and timeslots under the assistance of THB. (Applicable to a group of at least 6 individuals)

Documents to Bring for Vaccination

Upon successful registration, a member of the priority group should visit the designated CVC on the designed day and timeslot for vaccination, and has to show to the registration staff (a) identify proof, (b) a duly completed and stamped employer’s letter which can be downloaded from the Vaccination Programme dedicated website (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/pdf/template_prioritygp_identity_proof.pdf) and (c) SMS message or photocopy of booking confirmation. The employer’s letter will not be collected and the person can bring the same letter for receiving both doses of vaccine.
