The 28th Education and Careers Expo
1-4 February 2018
The Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board (HKMPB) participated in the Education & Careers Expo again by setting up a booth at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre which was held from 1-4 February 2018.
Apart from information panels, pamphlets and leaflets, a large LED display panel was set up at the booth playing four newly-produced career videos on maritime professions. Information such as entry requirements, career prospects and promotion opportunities of various positions in the maritime industry was introduced. Maritime-related games with interactive technology were specially designed to arouse the interests of the students towards maritime industry.
Students of the Maritime Services Training Institute of the Vocational Training Council and practitioners of the maritime industry were also invited to share their practical working experience and entry requirements with the interested students.
What’s more, a booklet setting out the various incentive schemes offered under the Maritime and Aviation Training Fund was distributed at the booth for participants’ information.
With the information distributed at the booth and exchanges with the in-service practitioners, it was hoped that interests and awareness of the students and general public towards the maritime industry could be further enhanced, thereby encouraging them to join the industry.
